This month, as every year, we are celebrating World Cancer Day – this time under the slogan “It Affects Us All” . It is a positive and proactive step in the fight against cancer that allows us to present existing solutions that are within our reach. Cancer is one of the most serious diseases faced by women. They should encourage each other to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle and check themselves regularly to minimize the risk of contracting the disease or relapse.
ABOUT THE EVENT
The World Health Organization recommends access to information and education as the best strategy for the early resolution of neoplastic disease, incl. by promoting regular testing.
In cooperation with the Oncology Center in Warsaw and the Foundation for Somalia, Global African Diaspora (GADO) organizes an educational workshop for women on early cancer detection through access to information on observation techniques, procedures and access to preventive treatment centers in Poland. The workshop is also aimed at migrant women living in Poland – it is to encourage them to regular preventive examinations, to which they are entitled under their health insurance. Participants will have the opportunity to talk to experts and experienced women during the workshop.
